Amanda Newsome, LPC-Associate
I worked in corporate America for five years before transitioning into mental health. I have experience working with teens in residential settings as well as teens and adults in outpatient hospital settings. I now provide individual counseling for teens and adults. I specialize in helping individuals struggling with stress, self-esteem issues, depression, anxiety, grief and loss. Together we will work to improve your ability to manage life’s stressors and better your relationships with others. My goal is to work with my clients to learn to utilize effective coping skills to live a more positive and fulfilling life.
My treatment approach involves working with my clients to gain understanding and acceptance of themselves with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Together, we will develop and work towards the completion of goals for an optimal outcome in the therapeutic experience. I assist clients in focusing on living in the present in order to become the best possible version of themselves.
It can be difficult to take that courageous first step toward bettering oneself, and together we can work to explore and analyze the issues that may cause turmoil in your daily life. I heavily focus on the therapeutic relationship by working to provide an open, compassionate, and empathetic space that is free of judgement.
I am under the supervision of Lorrianne Morrow, LPC - S.
