Lauren Trevino, LPC-Intern, LMFT-Associate

I work with individuals, families, and couples to assist them in increasing their understanding and support in overcoming challenges. I have a passion for working with children (5+), teens, and adults who are living with one or more following problems: depression, stress, anxiety, bipolar disorder, conflict, eating disorder, women’s issues, OCD, PTSD, and ADHD.

My primary focus is creating a safe and nonjudgmental environment to process problems and create solutions while tuning in to individuals' strength, resiliency, and direction for positive change. Working together, I hope to increase awareness and acceptance of one as a survivor who is overcoming obstacles while creating a brighter future.

My approach to therapy has been influenced by multiple evidence-based and practice-based therapies including Solution-Focused, Emotion-Focused, Collaborative, Narrative, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am currently in training for EMDR Therapy which has shown effectiveness in treatment for trauma and PTSD.  EMDR Therapy utilizes imagery and bilateral stimulation while processing traumatic memories in order to assist the brain in resuming its natural healing processes.

I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern (LPC-I) supervised by Lorrianne Morrow (LPC-S) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Associate (LMFT-A) supervised by Kristin Henshaw (LMFT-S). I completed my M.S. at Our Lady of the Lake University in Family, Couples, and Individual Psychotherapy and B.A. at Texas State University in Psychology.
