Macie Babo, Clinical Intern
I provide individual, couples and group counseling. I have experience working with kids, adults, couples, and survivors of sexual assault. In my counseling approach, I work to meet you where you are at in the present moment. I provide a supportive, empathetic and nonjudgmental area for you to express your concerns and to work on fixing them. I believe that the client is the expert of themselves and that I am here to listen and be a support to you.
I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches, primarily cognitive behavior therapy and person-centered therapy. With these approaches, we examine negative beliefs that you have and look at how those make you think and behave. Then we will work together to fix those beliefs to help you change your thoughts and behaviors. All the while doing that in a safe space, so you feel free to move at your own pace.
I am currently completing my Masters degree at Houston Baptist University to apply to be a licensed professional counselor. I am currently under the supervision of Mrs. Lorrianne Morrow. I completed my undergraduate degree at Baylor University with my B.A in Psychology.
