Individual Therapy - Children & Teens

Individual counseling for children and teens is a safe space where your children come into the office and meet with a therapist on an individual basis with the session reserved just for them. Family sessions are often recommended to be incorporated into their counseling, but only if needed and if you consent.

Below is a list of issues that individual counseling may help with:

  • drug and alcohol problems

  • peer relationships, bullying, and isolating behaviors

  • parent or guardian conflicts

  • body image and self esteem issues

  • sexual identity issues

  • sexually acting out

  • academic issues

  • cutting and other self harm behaviors

  • adjustment to divorce or move

  • low motivation

  • running away

  • impulsive behaviors
